Mechanic slapped with armed robbery charge

Twenty-nine-year-old Maxwell Juke was on Monday placed on bail in the sum of $200,000 by Senior Magistrate Dylon Bess, before whom he appeared to answer a robbery-under-arms charge.
Juke, a mechanic and father of two, who resides at Lot 304 Castello Housing Scheme, East La Penitence, Georgetown, denied that while in the vicinity of Albert Street Alberttown on September 8; while in the company of another male; and while being armed with a dangerous weapon, he robbed Randy Bourne.
While further details were not available to the court, City Lance Corporal Goodman objected to Juke being placed on bail because of the serious nature of the offence, and because a dangerous weapon had allegedly been used in its commission.
However, Magistrate Bess granted Juke his pretrial liberty in the sum of $200,000. A condition attached to Juke’s being placed on bail is that he has to report to the Kitty Police Station every Monday, Wednesday and Friday until completion of his matter.
He is expected to make his next court appearance on October, 26, 2018.
