Meet comedian Michael Ignatius

Guyanese comedy would not be what it is had it not be for this guy. Michael Ignatius is definitely one of Guyana’s finest actors. His participation in school concerts gave him his start and his career began in 1998.
Like our local theatre, BV Community High School was always buzzing because he had a knack for making people laugh. His passion and love for comedy coupled with his ability to improvise on stage is what got him selected to be a part of the all-star cast of “Nothing to Laugh About”. From then to now, he has added flare to NTLA that is indescribable, unique and captivating.
He has acted in countless plays such as “83 Million Gees”, “Julius Caesar”, “Colour of Race”, “Till I find ah place”, “Woman-in Law” and many more.
He quickly shot to fame when he played the role of “Credit” in the local sitcom: “Welcome to my Life”. “Credit” has since become a household name and has never failed to please his audience.
Michael Ignatius has starred for many years in “Awe Society”, “Who Laff Last”, “The Link Show” as well as “Nothing to Laugh About”. He is also currently the voice of “Anil” on the popular radio serial, Merundoi.
He is definitely a man of many talents who has even acted in movies such as “Protection Game” and “Brown Sugar Too Bitter for me”. This award winning actor – Best actor in the National Drama Festival 2017 – is one to look for.
He is also the king of UNCENSORED Comedy and King of the Ground stand-up comedy competition.
This talented 31-year-old actor is a father of two boys who are carbon copies of their father.
You can look out for this gifted thespian in his next production “Till ah find a Place 2” this weekend June 30 and July 1. Every single night of “Till I Find A Place” will definitely be off the hook because “Credit” is a big deal!
