Men drop gun, ammo during Police chase

The Police are on the hunt for two men who reportedly dropped a Glock 17 pistol and four live rounds of 9mm ammunition during a chase along Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown in the vicinity of Penny Lane.

A Police preliminary report stated that ranks were on patrol when they heard an explosion suspected to be a gunshot and went to investigate. As they made their way into Penny Lane, they observed a silver-grey Fielder Wagon motor car that two men were exiting. One of them was reportedly armed with a black hand gun.
Upon seeing the ranks, the driver of the vehicle hurriedly drove off while the two men ran into a nearby yard. As such, the Police ranks gave chase, but the two men jumped a concrete fence and made good their escape.
As they scaled the fence, the aforementioned gun and ammunition were disposed of. These were retrieved by the ranks and subsequently lodged at the Police Station. No arrests were made. The Police are continuing their investigations.
