Mendoncas rule 3rd Georgetown Grand Prix

Carlos and Paige Mendonca emerged as champions of their respective categories on Saturday evening at the Georgetown Grand Prix which was held at the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club track on Saturday evening.
The father and daughter who are no strangers to the track each had consistent performances to end the night as champions.
After finishing in a close second in her first race, the younger Mendonca showed grit and steel in her second race, driving expertly to close out her closest challenger Jeremy Ten Pow to finish first and cop the top podium spot in the 60CC category.

Paige’s father Carlos who had two second place finishes and a top podium spot showed skill and experience especially around turns to hold Elliott Vieira, Mathew Phang, Stefan Jeffry and Michael Gonzalves at bay during his three races to win the overall champion trophy in the Shifter Karts category.
Debutant motor racer Jean Claude Jeffrey had a dream start on the track as he won the Easy Cup Light.
Jeffrey got two first place finishes as well as one third place to walk away with the championship trophy.
In the 125CC category Matthew Phang outclassed the field to end with two wins and one third while he also finished second in one of the shifter kart events.
