Mentally challenged woman charged with damage of property

Shebike Chase of Lot 180 Charlotte Street, Lacytown Georgetown appeared on Thursday before City Magistrate Judy Latchman to answer a charge of maliciously and unlawfully damaging Andrew Cush’s motor car, PPP 9553, which was parked on the parapet in front of her home on December 15, 2017.
It was alleged that Chase and Cush had a misunderstanding, which resulted in a confrontation, after which Chase armed herself with a brick and threw it against Cush’s car windshield.
Chase pleaded not guilty to the charges, and told the court that Cush had severely beaten her, causing her to sustain a broken arm and leg.
It was also brought to the court’s attention that the 37-year-old Chase is mentally unstable
She was released on $50,000 bail, and is expected to return to court on April 6 for statements.
