Mercenary, OSCL’s All-Stars clash today at Ashtonbee

Excitement galore is highly anticipated today at Ashtonbee (Reservoir) where Mercenary and an All-Stars XI will clash in a one-off match from 13:00h (1:00pm).
The game was organised by the Ontario Softball Cricket League (OSCL) to end the season, with their presentation and award ceremony occurring after the match.
According to OSCL President Ravin Babulall, the day promises to be exciting, since there will be other activities including kiddies games at the same facility.
Babulall also informed that the All-Stars fixture should be fascinating as well. Mercenary came out victorious in the recently-concluded OSCL’s 20-over tournament beating Canadian Legends and carted off the prize for being the top team at the conclusion of the season, garnering the most points.
This is another opportunity for them to showcase their brilliant talent and their winning combination. The All-Stars side is made of players who represented various teams that participated in the competition as well.
Councillor Michael Thompson for the City Area of East Toronto is expected to grace the occasion, according to Babulall.
Mercenary have had a plethora of seasoned campaigners in their line-up. Among the names are Avinash Sookdeo, skipper Looknauth Ramsichit, Sunil Ramkissoon, Avish Rukhram, Bobby Parasnauth, Yadram Bogh, and Richard Dias. These players will be on show again.
The leader stated that the encounter would be 20-overs-a-side and prizes are also up for grabs. The OSCL’s All-Stars team will be captained by Troy Gobin and he will have in the squad Devon Ramnauth, Rakesh Ramotar, Reyaz Prahalad, Wasim Parsram, Kelvin Shivrattan, Vic Mangal, Mike Kadir, Amit Arjune, Harrienarine Chattergoon, Zakir Khan, Daven Parsram, Rishi Samuel, and Akash Ala.
