As we approach the beginning of Ramadan, may God accept all our deeds and our fast. Ramadan gives us the perfect opportunity to reflect on our lives, family and society. We, as Muslims, must use this period to project Islam for what it is, that is peace, tolerance, patience and love. It is our duty as Muslims to condemn injustices wherever it is.
May Allah accept our fast and give you and your family the strength and health to make your Ramadan a success. Let this month of fasting renew our commitment to the poor, struggle against social injustices, discrimination and all dreadful plagues that tear our societies apart and destroy our ability to coexist peacefully.
Ramadan proves that with faith, commitment, trust and reverence to God we have the ability to contribute to the elimination of poverty and many of the problems that destroy the core fabric of our society. We live in a beautiful country that has been blessed with many creation of God all of whom are equal and one in his eyes. To all of Guyana, Ramadan Mubarak!
