Michael Anthony to defend Malta Supreme Cycling crown this weekend

Top cyclist Michael Anthony will have a tough task on Saturday as he bids to defend his Malta Supreme title against a field of in-form cyclists such as Geron Williams, Orville Hinds, Raul Leal, Shaquille Agard, Hamzah Eastman, Jamaul John and Paul DeNobrega.

Michael Anthony will be hoping he can defend his Malta Supreme title

These will all be looking to avenge their losses at the past weekend’s National Cycling Championships, won by Raynauth “Obeah Man” Jeffrey.
The feature event — the 35-lap Schoolboys’ Invitational — will be the most anticipated race of the day. Beginning at 09:00hrs, the event is expected to be well attended, coming off the heels of the massive support received at the Championship Road Race on Sunday last.
The 2017 National Road Race Champion and time trials winner Raynauth Jeffrey will not be participating in the feature 35-lap schoolboy’s invitational, but the level of competition will nevertheless be high, as riders from Team Coco, Evolution and Atlantis will be seeking glory.
National Cycling Coach Hassan Mohamed is in charge of the day’s events.
