Miner arrested with 8 grams of cannabis

– tells Police he uses it for medical reasons

A 34-year-old miner was on Wednesday arrested during a Police raid that unearthed a quantity of ganja at his St Elizabeth Backdam, Potaro-Siparuni home.
The operation was conducted between 11:45h and 13:30h after Police ranks acted on information received.
The suspect, Anthony Denny, also called “Antsman”, after the discovery of cannabis in his left pants pocket, told the Police ranks, “Sir, I does use this weed for my asthma.”

As such, he was arrested and taken to the Mahdia Police Station where the cannabis was weighed; it amounted to eight grams.
He is expected to make his court appearance shortly.
