Miner busted with 5 kg of ganja at Parika boathouse

A 39-year-old miner from Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was arrested on Friday at Parika Foreshore, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), with a quantity of cannabis.
Police stated that ranks were on foot patrol duties in the area and, acting on information received, made contact with the suspect, who was at a boathouse, during which a search was conducted on him and his belongings.
The search led to the discovery of the ganja inside a bag belonging to him. As such, he was arrested and taken to the Parika Police Station, where the ganja was weighed and amounted to five kilograms.
The miner remains in custody pending charges.
