Miner busted with ganja during Police operations

A party of Police ranks conducted several raids at “Poppy Show” and Tamakay Landings, Upper Mazaruni River, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni), during which a quantity of ganja was unearthed.

Police stated that the raids were conducted between Saturday and Sunday. During the raid, the Police reported that a 26-year-old miner of Sideline Dam Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was arrested after he was found with 540 grams of ganja in his possession. At the time, he was at Poppy Show Landing.
Additionally, Police conducted a search at an apartment building where four parcels of compressed marijuana were found. At the time of the raid, the person who was occupying the room was not at the location.
The Police, however, have made checks for him but their efforts proved futile. The ganja was lodged at the station as investigations continue. The miner, who was taken into custody, will make his court appearance shortly.
