Miner chopped during money row

A 64-year-old miner is now nursing a chop wound to his hand after he was attacked by a cutlass-wielding man following an argument over money.
Injured is Jose Sousa Fielbo, a miner of Para Taitieba, Brazil and also of Kumung Kumung Backdam, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni).
According to reports, the incident occurred on Friday at about 11:00h at the Surinambo Landing, Middle Mazaruni River, Region Seven. Reports are that Fielbo was confronted about money allegedly owed the suspect’s father. An argument ensued, and the suspect armed himself with a cutlass and dealt Fielbo a chop to lower left hand.
The miner was transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC), where he has been admitted. The suspect, meanwhile, was later located and arrested. He is currently in custody as investigations into the matter continue.
Only a few weeks ago, thirty-seven-year-old Wilneivis Del Valle Bisram Vadel, a Venezuelan national, was burnt in the face, beaten, and chopped by her lover.
While at Aranka Landing, Cuyuni River, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni), the suspect, identified as “Smokey”, was imbibing when an argument ensued between him and the woman. He reportedly burnt the woman with a cigarette and chopped her several times about her body and to her head.
