Decomposing body
A post-mortem examination revealed that 35-year-old Kevin Dawson, whose partially decomposed body was found in his Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara home on Monday, died as a result of malaria and typhoid.
According to C Division (East Coast Demerara) Commander Calvin Brutus, the
post-mortem confirmed the Police’s initial suspicion that the man may have died as a result of natural causes. He added that the man’s wife, 28-year-old Cindy Dawson, who was found in an unconscious state, remains a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital and related to the Police that she does not remember the incident.
The woman was only able to relate that she went home from work and found her husband’s lifeless body on the bed. She immediately fainted and has no recollection of anything until she woke up in the Hospital on Monday.
The couple were discovered at their Lot 7 GEC Housing Scheme, Cummings Lodge home around 18:00h.
On Monday after Cindy failed to turn up for work at the Turkeyen Nursery School, one of her colleagues ventured to the couple’s house to investigate. Upon arriving, she was greeted by a stench emanating from the couple’s home. An alarm was raised and the door was forced open. Kevin Dawson’s body was discovered partially decomposed in their bedroom, while his wife was found unconscious in the kitchen.
