Dead is Alwin Daniels of South Ruimveldt Park, Geogetown.
According to information provided, the discovery was made at a shop at about 15:00h last Thursday. While it is unclear who found the body, Police said the man was last seen at about 17:00h on June 3.

One week prior to this incident, another miner was reportedly beaten to death in Region Seven and later discovered dead in a hammock. David James of Port Kaituma, Region One (Barima-Waini), and another employee were imbibing at their worksite, which is located at Aranguy Backdam, Cuyuni River, when an argument ensued.
During the dispute, the employee left and returned shortly after with another man, who proceeded to punch James several times to his face and body. This caused him to fall to the ground, after which he became motionless. Ranks were summoned to the scene where James was found dead in a hammock. In that matter, one of the suspects was taken into custody.
