Miner nabbed with 279g marijuana

A 41-year-old miner of Canvas City, Linden was arrested about 10:40h on Wednesday at 30 Miles Potaro Road with 279 grams of cannabis in a haversack he had slung on his shoulders.
At the time of arrest, two Police ranks were in the area conducting a mobile patrol on an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) when they noticed the suspicious behaviour of the miner. A search of his person and haversack was conducted and the drug was found.
The suspect who has admitted ownership of the illicit substance is being processed for court.
