A gold miner on Monday appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan to answer to a charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Akeem Richmond, 20, of Jawala Village, Upper Mazaruni, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni), denied the charge which stated that on September 4, 2018, he had in his possession 22 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
He was released on $50,000 bail and the case has been transferred to the Kamarang Magistrate’s Court where it will continue on December 17.
