Accused Michael Melville being escorted out of the courtroom by a Police Officer

Police Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield revealed that during the period of December 2, 2015 and December 5, 2015, it was alleged that Michael Melville, 31, murdered Jose Oliveira Silva while at Arau Landing, Wenamu River, Essequibo.
The accused was not required to plead to the indictable charge and was remanded to prison until March 20, 2018.
Melville was previously charged for the said murder, but the matter was discharged since the witnesses failed to appear; however, the charge was reinstituted.
