A 45-year-old gold miner of Belfield Village, East Coast Demerara (ECD), has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm without a licence, contrary to Section 16(2)(a) of the Firearm Act, Chapter 16:05. Calvin Skeete appeared on Tuesday at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court via Zoom before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir, where the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison.
The matter has been adjourned to March 24.
