Miner who was reported “dead” found alive rocking in hammock

Twenty-four-year-old Vanir Nasio, a pork-knocker, of the Paramakatoi Village, North Pakaraimas, Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni), who was reported dead after being beaten by a female was found alive.
Police reports revealed that although the man was beaten by the 23-year-old female suspect who accused him of stealing her gun at Siparuni Backdam, he did not die. According to Police, on Sunday at approximately 14:30h, Nasio and the 23-year-old suspect were working together on a four-inch land dredge when the woman accused him of stealing her gun. This led to a physical altercation and Nasio was beaten severely by the woman. Reports are the woman of 111 Miles, Mahdia, Region Eight, dealt the pork-knocker several kicks and punches about his body. The injured man was picked up by a female miner, who headed to Mabura, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) to get him medical attention. There were reports that the man had succumbed to his injuries and that Police had launched a manhunt for the suspect. However, when Police turned up at the site where the incident occurred, Nasio was found rocking himself in a hammock.
