Home News Miners slapped with B&E charges
Two miners appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Tuesday and denied charges that they broke and entered a hotel in Region One (Barima-Waini).
Christoph Methland and Leroy Savory appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan to answer to one count of break and enter and one count of simple larceny.
The court heard that between March 30 and 31, 2018, at Port Kaituma Waterfront, the duo broke and entered a hotel room and stole $100,000, one haversack, a cellphone and other valuables to the total value of $124,200.
The Police Prosecutor did not object to bail, and as such, the men were released on $30,000 bail each.
The case will call again on April 18.
