Mingo granted $600,000 bail for Misconduct in Public Office charges

Embattled Returning Officer for Electoral District Four (Demerara – Mahaica), Clairmont Mingo, was this morning granted $150,000 bail for each of the four Misconduct in Public Office charges.

Mingo made his appearance before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court where the application for bail was granted in the sum of $600,000. He was represented by Attorneys Darren Wade, Nigel Hughes and Ronald Daniels and will make his next court appearance on September 25.

Mingo was also required to lodge his passport at the Criminal Investigations Department Headquarters and would have to report to the Police every Friday.
