In less than 72 hours, Guyana’s representative to the Miss United Continents pageant, 22-year-old Divya Yabindranauth, will compete against other beauties from around the world for the coveted title. The pageant is slated to he held in Ecuador and preparations are well underway to select the new queen.
For the past two weeks, the delegates were in competition mode as they participated in several preliminary segments including, swimwear, talent, national costume and evening wear.
On pageant night, the scores from the preliminary competitions will determine the finalists. It is with great expectation that Miss Guyana will make the cut and move one step closer to the crown.
The Guyanese beauty is no stranger to pageantry and would have participated in several local pageants; this being her first time at representing Guyana on the international stage.
Yabindranauth is an aspiring engineer who migrated at the age of 13 and is currently attached to an oil company in Texas. She took time off from her career to represent her homeland at the international pageant.
During a recent interview with the Guyanese beauty, she expressed her anticipation for the international showdown while hinting that she was a little nervous but was happy to represent Guyana.
At the time, she was optimistic that she will bring home the crown and planned to be one of the best ambassadors to represent Guyana. The Miss United Continents Pageant was initiated in the year 2006 with the aim of unifying countries cross the various continents.
This year marks the second time Guyana will be facing off with in excess of 30 beautifies from around the world. All eyes will be on Guyana as she has been creating some waves on the international scene.
