The lifeless body of a man who reportedly went missing was found floating in the Lanabali River, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) on Tuesday.
The body of Ned Fredricks was pulled from the river after he was discovered by fishermen who were patrolling the area.
Based on reports received, the now dead man was found clad in a blue jersey and short pants. His daughter was informed about the discovery, since there was a missing person’s report out on her father at a Police station.
At the time of the discovery, the body had blisters. An investigation has been launched.
Just about two weeks ago, the body of 52-year-old Chabilall Kumar, of Welfare Street, New Area, Canefield Settlement, East Canje, Berbice, was found in a trench at Palmyra, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne).
It was reported that the man was an epileptic case and was also a heavy drinker. He reportedly left his home on December 6, 2020 to go fishing and was found on December 7, 2020.
Police had confirmed that the body bore no marks of violence. Following the discovery, several persons in the area were questioned, but no useful information was gathered. A post-mortem proved that he died by drowning.
