Meten-Meer-Zorg (MMZ) have defeated New York Warriors by 33 runs in the New York National Cricket League 40-overs competition.
Troy Mayers, who contributed 45, and Mohamed Shaw’s 43 took MMZ to 214-9 in their allotted 35 overs. Other contributions came from Kelvin Shewprasad, who made 38, and Andy Mohammed, who scored 20. Bowling for New York Warriors, Robin Das picked up 3-32, while Mohammed Nazu claimed 3-29.
In reply, New York Warriors could manage only 181 all out, after Terrence Madramootoo claimed 4-48 and Looknauth Chinkoo took 3-10. Keith Edie, Shewprasad and Matthew Lutchean each took one wicket for MMZ.
The New York Warriors’ poor batting effort was led by captain Sreejon Hussain, who scored 61.
