MNRE Inter-Agency domino finals set for Friday

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) successfully hosted their inter-agency domino semi-finals last Friday.
Played in the compound of the Guyana Geology & Mines Commission (GGMC), GGMC “B” and Guyana Lands & Survey Commission (GL&SC) qualified ahead of GGMC “C”. The two teams will now contest the finals against the Guyana Forestry Commission (GFC) who gained a bye to the finals.

The GGMC “C,” an all-female team entered the final sitting – ten games behind GL&SC and a further six games behind eventual winners GGMC “B.” However, the finals were only decided at the end of the penultimate game of the evening after some very exciting domino and a vociferous team support.
Shonette Elias of GGMC “B” was the best player of the evening after jointly acquiring the maximum eighteen games with GL&SC’s Reyburn Holder, however, wining due to her “sharing a double love”.
Thirteen teams entered the competition which began on April 13, three from GGMC, two from MNRE, 2 from GFC, two from the National Parks Commission (NPC) and one each from the Guyana Gold Board (GGB), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and GLSC.
Following the conclusion of the finals there will be presentation of prizes to the top teams and individuals with outstanding performances.
