Mocha resident granted bail on break-and-enter charge

A 43-year-old man who has been accused of stealing more than $1.2 million in electrical construction tools has been placed on $60,000 bail following his appearance before Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrates’ Courts on Wednesday.

Germin Williams of Nelson Street, Mocha, East Bank Demerara was arraigned before the Magistrate on a charge of break-and-enter and larceny, contrary to Section 229(a) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01. He pleaded not guilty as charged, was placed on bail, and his next court date has been set at November 11.
The Police have said that Williams committed the offence on the property of 55-year-old Neil Wickham of Barnwell North, Mocha, EBD on October 8. He allegedly broke into the man’s property and stole several electrical construction tools valued at $1,270,000.
