A 27-year-old from Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, was on Thursday, apprehended with 69 grams of cannabis and 13 grams of cocaine by ranks of the Guyana Police Force.
Police, acting on information, went to Mon-Repos South where they observed the man sitting on a bench with a black plastic bag in his hands acting in a suspicious manner. Upon seeing the ranks, he ran into an abandoned yard where he was apprehended with the bag in his hands.
A quantity of ziploc bags containing seeds, leaves, and stems and a transparent bag containing a hard rock whitish substance suspected to be cocaine were found in the bag.
He was arrested and taken to the Beterverwagting Police Station, where the suspected cannabis and cocaine were weighed and amounted to 69 grams and 13 grams respectively. Additionally, $32,000 was also lodged at the Station.
