Guyana’s representative to the Miss World Pageant, Vena Mookram, has participated in several preliminary competitions leading up to the grand finale on Saturday evening in Sanya, China, but has so far been unsuccessful in winning any of them.
Despite this, the Guyanese beauty ambassador remains focused and confident in making it to the top 20 on pageant night. In a recent post, Mookram thanked the Guyanese populace for their support thus far and hopes that the support continues to flow as she takes on 100 odd delegates from around the world.
With less than 72 hours to go, Mookram is focused in making it to the top 20. However, Guyana has always done well with the ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ project and this aspect will take centre stage in the next few hours.
Meanwhile, one of the biggest pageant prediction organisations, Global Beauties, has France as a front runner for the coveted title with India coming in closely behind.
Mexico, Russia, and the United States have been in top five since the commencement of the competition and this is unchanged.
In addition, following her Top Model victory, Nigeria has now jumped into sixth place and Brazil has moved up another spot. El Salvador is still holding steady in the top 10, while The Dominican Republic and China seem to be two girls we should keep an eye on.
Other countries to look out for are Venezuela, Poland, Spain, Italy, Philippines, Kenya and Argentina.
