Guyanese sprinter Alita Moore failed to medal in the women’s 400m final on Friday evening at the Baku Olympic Stadium, coming in 6th with a time of 55.81s.
Bahrain’s Salwa Eid Naser and Oluwakemi Adekoya took gold and silver respectively with times of 51.33s and 51.81s, while Yinka Ajayi of Nigeria closed out the top three with the bronze medal.
Winston George took the bronze medal in his men’s 200m final on Thursday, and won silver in the men’s 400m on Wednesday; while overseas-based athlete Natrena Hooper won Guyana’s third medal in her high jump event. Hooper jumped her way to bronze at 1.77 metres in her favoured event, while she finished sixth on Wednesday in the women’s triple-jump.
