Olympic Kremlin is set for one last final run on August 23 at the Guyana Cup, but more than 10 new horses are set to debut in Guyana on the million-dollar day at Rising Sun Turf Club.
This was confirmed by veteran trainer/horseman Glen Mohamed on the Beyond the Rail podcast. Six new horses have already landed in Guyana, and six more are expected to touch Guyanese shores in the coming days.
“Dataman will have something to deal with,” the veteran trainer said.
Sources have already indicated that Jagdeo Racing Stables, JS Racing Stables, and Jumbo Jet Racing Stables are among the top stables that are eyeing success with the new horses landed for the Guyana Cup.
A total of 14 races will be running at this year’s Guyana Cup, and more than GY$66 million in cash and prizes will be paid out.
The feature race which will be the Banks Guyana Cup will fetch a purse of GY$22 million.
General admission tickets are GY$5000, VVIP experience is GY$25,000 and private VIP decks are GY$500,000.
A brand new four-door SinoTruk pick-up will be up for the taking from the raffle exercise. The raffle ticket locations are located at the Jumbo Jet office in Smyth Street, JS Supermarket, Js Outlet, and Poonai’s Pharmacy. The raffle ticket cost only GY$2000.
This Guyana Cup will be one of significant differences, with the event being for the entire family. A kid zone will be in place, and a host of prizes will be rewarded on the day.
The Guyana Cup also has additional parking and more screens at the venue to offer a more visible and enjoyable race day.
The races will be only 45 minutes away from Georgetown, and fans from across the Caribbean are expected to be in attendance to witness the most high-profile racing event in Guyana’s history.
