More theft charges for former security service employee

A North Sophia, Greater Georgetown man was on Monday slapped with 14 more charges for allegedly stealing a little over half a million dollars from his former employer. Darrell LaFargue, 23, appeared before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Issacs-Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that between July 10, 2021, and August 6, 2021, at Regent Street, Georgetown, while being employed as a clerk or servant at Queensway Security Service Inc, he stole $514,486. He was granted bail in the sum of $200,000.
His next court date is in December.
Last month, LaFargue appeared in court on similar charges. He also denied those charges. It is alleged that between August 21, 2021, and September 4, 2021, at Regent Street, Georgetown, while being employed as a clerk/servant at Queensway Security Service Inc, he stole $362,314.
Then, Police Prosecutor Annalisa Brummell told the court that the defendant gave a caution statement admitting to the crime. LaFargue was granted $450,000 bail on the first set of charges.
Conditionality of the bail is that he reports to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters, Eve Leary, Georgetown, every Friday until the hearing and determination of his trial. (G1)
