More upsets as Group Stage gets under way

– Guinness/Three Peat Promotions Cage Indoor Tournament

Fans were treated to more riveting action as play continued in the group stage of the Guinness Cage Indoor tournament on Thursday night at the National Gymnasium.
The upsets continued as well, none bigger than Sparta being soundly beaten 3-0 by Ol Skool Ballers in the last match of the night.
The hero for the Ballers was Joel McGarrell who netted a hat-trick to get his side off to a confident start; McGarrell’s goals came in the 6th, 19th and 20th minutes.
Earlier in the night the new boys MBK All-Stars continued to raise eyebrows as they overcame the seasoned Leopold Street 4-3.

Action between the Hustlers (Green) and Tiger Bay (Yellow)

MBK got off to a flyer as they pressured Leopold Street into scoring an own Goal in the 2nd minute. However, Okeene Fraser leveled the score immediately after with a laser-like goal in the 3rd minute.
Christopher Hyderkhan in the 5th and Nevon Haynes in the 6th minute put MBK back in the lead at 3-1 but Leopold Street continued to fight back with Samuel Hunte’s goal in the 8th and Orandell Williams in the 17th minutes bringing their team back on terms.
MBK showed grit and determination as Oswald Cornette netted in the final minute of the game (20th) to ensure his side walked away victorious.
North Ruimveldt needed a single goal to get past Albouystown-B as Colin Daniels scored in the 13th minute.
A brace from Sunil Logan (12th and 15th minutes) complemented with a goal in the 18th minute from Josiah Charles ensured the Hustlers beat Tiger Bay 3-1. The lone goal scorer for Tiger Bay was James Meredith in the 4th minute.
Albouystown-A fared better than their B counterparts as they had a comfortable 3 -0 victory over the Showstoppers.
Devon Dooker in the 5th, Marlon Nedd in the 14th and Tevin Curry in the 18th minute were the players on target for Albouystown-A.
West Front Road- Gold is Money was needled by Mocha as Sceyon Hope found the back of the net in the 2nd minute.
Future Stars continued their fine run of form by beating Pike Street Sophia 1-0, as star player Keron Solomon struck in the 10th minute.
Back Circle prevailed 2-1 over Champion Boys following goals from Runel Gordon and Nick Williams in the 5th and 13th minutes respectively.
Lloyd Matthews scored for Champion Boys in the 11th minute.
