Morgan’s Learning Centre opens multimillion-dollar facility
As Guyana seeks to improve its education delivery, Morgan’s Learning Centre, a private educational learning institution, has enhanced its operations, having moved into a multimillion-dollar facility that will mainly cater for underprivileged students from Forms One to Six.
The school has set an aim to provide quality education where students can be comfortable. The facility’s Director, Orin Morgan says it took a lot of hard work and dedication to improve the Centre’s standards, moving from a place where classes were held at the lower section of another building.
“We at Morgan’s Learning Centre are pleased that we can contribute towards the moulding of Guyana’s children and there is no better feeling that we get as teachers than when we can move a child from nothing to something,” Morgan observed.
The Centre will also offer classes to school dropouts and while being a private entity, Guyana Teacher Union General Sectary Coretta McDonald says the Centre will assist in enhancing education delivery in the country.
“Children who we think don’t have a second chance, Morgan is a person who would have recognised those persons and they now have a chance of making themselves what they really want to be,” the trade unionist pointed out.
She added that the union will look into the interests of teachers at the school.
The school will offer subject areas at the levels of CXC and CAPE (Caribbean Advanced Proficiency).
