Residents of Moruca, Region One (Barima/Waini) received 37 street lights from the Ministry of Natural Resources.
Natural Resources Minister Raphael Trotman along with Public Infrastructure Minister David Patterson met with residents for the handing over ceremony.
Minister Trotman told the residents that a collaborative effort was done to get the lights, some of which were installed in the Kumaka community.
Minister Patterson in brief remarks told the residents it was his “pleasure to lend my ministry’s support in a very small way” towards meeting the needs of the people.
The lights were installed and have been serving the community for approximately two weeks.
Toshao of Santa Rosa, Sherwin Abrams, said he was pleased by the fulfilment of the commitment.
