A firearm was reportedly discovered after a motorcyclist allegedly lost control at Bourda, Georgetown, on Friday evening.
Information indicates that a Police rank stationed at the Bourda Market Police Outpost observed a male on a motorcycle proceeding north along Orange Walk, in breach of the one-way traffic system.

The rank reportedly attempted to stop him, but in an effort to escape, he collided with a motor car and a barrier, thus causing him to lose control of the motorcycle. The impact of the collision caused a firearm reportedly being carried by the suspect to fall onto the roadway. The motorcyclist then regained balance and made good his escape.
Upon inspection, the firearm was confirmed to be a black and silver 9mm Girsan pistol with four matching rounds of ammunition. The firearm was subsequently taken to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and lodged as investigations continue.
