A motorcyclist was arrested on Thursday evening after he reportedly dropped the motorcycle he was riding upon seeing the Police at New Road Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara (WCD).
Police stated that on the day in question at about 22:35h, a Police Corporal was on patrol duty along New Road Vreed-en-Hoop when he saw the motorcyclist riding along the said road.
However, the rank reportedly attempted to stop the motorcycle but the driver rode away. As such, the Corporal gave chase when he observed the driver dropping the motorcycle and running into a yard.
The chase continued and eventually the driver was caught hiding in a clump of bushes in the area.
He was taken into custody as Police continue their investigations. The motorcycle which was left abandoned by the suspect was taken to the Vreed-en-Hoop Police Station and it was discovered that it had no documents.
The suspect was, however, asked to submit the documents for the motorcycle. (G10)
