The autopsy conducted on 62-year-old Bajnauth Samaroo, also known as “Suresh” of Hampton Court in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) revealed that he died as a result of multiple injuries. The examination was conducted by Government Pathologist, Dr Nehaul Singh on Tuesday morning at the Suddie mortuary. Samaroo succumbed on December 15 after he was involved in an accident on the Hampton Court public road.
According to the Police, the accident occurred on December 15, 2016 at around 18:35h on the Essequibo Coast, and involved a motor car bearing registration plates PJJ 5803 and a motorcycle. Investigations revealed that the motorcyclist was proceeding North along the western side of Hampton Court public road, while the driver of the motorcar was proceeding in the same direction behind the motorcycle. The driver of the car, in an attempt to overtake, lost control and collided with the motorcyclist who was allegedly hit from the rear and flung into a drainage trench.
Samaroo was picked up in an unconscious state and rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His body was later taken to the Suddie mortuary. The man was said to be returning from his sister’s home when he met his demise. According to information reaching Guyana Times, the driver of the car, Nandram Persaud, also known as “Tony”, of La Belle Alliance, Essequibo Coast, is schedule to attend the Suddie Magistrate’s Court today. Possible charges will be levelled against him for allegedly causing the death of Samaroo.
Only recently, Dr Haimant Haimraj and Orissa Williams both lost their lives during two separate accidents on the Essequibo Coast.
