Motorcyclist dies after crashing into garbage truck

Twenty-three-year-old Adrian Andrews of Wisroc Housing Scheme, Linden, met his demise on Sunday after he reportedly collided with a garbage truck at One Mile Public Road.
Preliminary investigations by the Police stated the on the day in question at about 12:45h, a motor lorry bearing registration number GWW 9089 owned by the Mayor and Town Council reportedly stopped to pick up garbage, after which the driver attempted to make a turn and ended up in the path of motorcycle CK 8951, driven by the now dead man.
As a result, the front of the motorcycle collided to the right-side front of the motor lorry, causing the motorcyclist to fall into a drain where he received head injuries.
He was picked up in an unconscious state and taken to the Mackenzie Hospital Complex where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police stated that a breath alcohol test was conducted on the driver of the motor lorry but there were no traces of alcohol in his system. He was arrested and is assisting with investigations.
