Motorcyclist dies after crashing into GPL pole

Vickash Singh, a 23-year-old motorcyclist of Leguan in Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara), died after losing control of his motorcycle, CK 2275, and colliding with a Guyana Power and Light (GPL) pole on the island.
Reports are that this fatal accident occurred along the Enterprise Public Road on the island of Leguan on Friday at about 03:20h.

The motorcycle that was involved in the accident

Singh was travelling south along the eastern drive lane of the road at a high speed, the police have said. They note that he was not wearing a safety helmet when he lost control of the motorcycle, veered onto the western parapet, and crashed into the GPL pole.
Having sustained head and other injuries in that crash, Singh was transported in an unconscious condition to the Leguan Cottage Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending doctor. His body is currently at the Leguan Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination. (G9)
