A carpenter was on Sunday killed after he lost control of his motorcycle and slammed into a cow along the Zorg Public Road, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).
The dead man has been identified as 28-year-old Jagdesh Singh of Lot 102 Pomona Housing Scheme, Essequibo Coast.
Based on information received, the young man was driving motorcycle CE 2037 at a fast pace and swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle, but ended up losing control and hitting with the cow. After slamming into the cow, Singh struck the right side of a canter that was going in the opposite direction.
As a result of the collision, Singh fell to the roadway and sustained severe injuries about the body. He was picked up and taken to the Suddie Public Hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
The driver of the canter was detained by the Police as they continue their investigations.
Singh’s body was taken to the Onderneeming Funeral Home to await a post-mortem.
