A motorcyclist has been admitted a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was involved in an accident with a Canter along the Ogle Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara (ECD) on Thursday.
The injured man is 32-year-old Odysseus Clement of Sophia, Greater Georgetown.
Based on reports received, on the day in question, at about 6:00h, the Canter, bearing registration number GGG 9813 and being driven by a 30-year-old resident of Patentia Housing Scheme, West Bank Demerara (WBD), was proceeding along the roadway and was about to negotiate a left turn when the driver felt an impact to the left side front portion of the vehicle.
He immediately brought the vehicle to a halt and, upon checking, saw the motorcycle and its driver lying on the roadway. The injured motorcyclist was picked up in a conscious state and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was treated for a fractured right leg and other bodily injuries. He was subsequently admitted a patient in a stable condition.
The driver of the Canter has been arrested, and he is assisting with investigations.
