Home Entertainment Mr and Ms African Roots Pageant delegates to be unveiled on Saturday
Thirteen contestants vying for the title of Mr and Miss African Roots will be unveiled at the Umana Yana, Kingston, Georgetown on Saturday. The delegates will compete in the Teen and Young Adult categories.
At the launch on July 14, the delegates will be sashed with the name of the country they will feature and also they will have an opportunity to market themselves for the grand coronation that is set for August 5 in the auditorium of Queen’s College.
On the night of the grand coronation, the delegates will compete in an introduction segment where they will be decked out in their creative wear, as well as swimwear, talent, evening wear and intelligence segments. In addition, they will do a presentation on the respective countries they represent.
At the end of the various competitions, the King and Queen will be crowned as well as the First and second Princes and Princesses. The reigning kings and queens are Stephen Johnson, Richard Layne, Tonya Harris and Keisha Braze.
After the launch, the contestants will undergo rigorous training and make several media appearances. They will have numerous photoshoots leading up to the pageant.
The 2018 pageant is sponsored by Aracari Resort, Roraima Airways and other organisations.
