broadcasting equipment and its building at the Eccles Industrial Site studio, East Bank Demerara.
The circumstances surrounding this collapse are currently under investigation, however, sabotage is not ruled out according to management. It added that the team is working assiduously to restore all operations but noted that programmes, advertisements and entertainment including MTV’s News Update and death announcements will not be aired until further notice.
However, according to reports reaching Guyana Times, a nipper was found at the site and it was disclosed that there were no security guards on the property. The facility also does not have CCTV cameras.
When contacted, MTV said they are working to restore service to its viewers but noted that the extent of the damage caused by the collapsed tower makes it challenging.
