Murder accused in cigarette stabbing incident remanded to prison

The Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) miner accused of knifing to death 20-year-old Daniel George on October 16th was on Monday arraigned before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
The charge 35-year-old Parsaram Ramnaught faces alleges that on October 16, 2018, at Barakat Landing, Mazaruni River, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni), he

murdered Daniel George.
Police Prosecutor Simone Payne related that the accused and the deceased were imbibing when an argument erupted over cigarettes. This resulted in the deceased being stabbed multiple times to his abdomen and eye by the defendant.
Ramnaught has been remanded to prison, and the matter has been adjourned to October 31.
