Days after her son, 52-year-old Gavin Graham, was sentenced to serve three life sentences, his mother, Sybil Graham, was charged for hurling a bottle with liquid at a State prosecutor after her son’s sentencing.
The 71-year-old woman of Green Valley, Wismar, Linden, appeared before Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts, where she denied that on February 28, 2020, at the Supreme Court, Georgetown, she assaulted Prosecutor Tiffany Lyken.
According to reports, the defendant’s son, whilst being escorted out of the courtroom, suddenly hurled a bottle with liquid at the Virtual Complainant (VC), who was the prosecutor in his murder trial.
Upon seeing this, it is alleged that the man’s mother picked up the said bottle and threw it again. She was subsequently arrested.
Nevertheless, the older Graham was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 and was ordered to report to the Wismar Police Station every Friday until the hearing and determination of the case.
The defendant’s son was sentenced to serve three life imprisonment terms after he was found guilty for the murders of 39-year-old Abola Abrams, Shawn Whyte and the woman’s 68-year-old stepfather, Clifford Sampson.
