The Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) has recognised the spectacular performances of its young cricketers, and has opted to play a significant role in their success.
The MYO recently took the initiative to present young prospect Abdul Ramsammy with a brand new SM cricket bat. Ramsammy, who recently scored his maiden century for MYO against the Malteenoes Sports Club, has represented Guyana at the under-15 level, and has played inter-county cricket at the under-17 level.
MYO President Azad Ibrahim has also vowed to continue supporting the youths, since they are the future of the game. He has said he would present bowling spikes and additional cricket bats to century makers and bowlers with five-wicket hauls.
The other individuals likely to receive items from MYO are Krishna Singh and Isai Thorne. Singh has been impressive for MYO; while Thorne, a Guyana under-15 player, is arguably the fastest 14-year-old seam bowler in the Caribbean. Both these players will have the MYO and Ibrahim’s support throughout their blooming careers.
