NA man arrested as Police destroy 30,000 ganja plants

A team of law enforcement officers on Thursday destroyed a field containing some 30,000 cannabis plants at Ebuni, Upper Berbice River.
This was done during a drug eradication exercise that was led by a Superintendent of Police.

This one and a half acres of ganja plants were destroyed by fire

According to Police reports, the ranks discovered one and half acres of land containing cultivated cannabis sativa plants, ranging from one to six feet in height, as well as a quantity of seeds.
In addition, the officers found a Honda water pump and one spray can at a nearby camp site. Both the camp and the fields were destroyed by fire.
A 25-year-old resident from Angoys Avenue, New Amsterdam, Berbice, has since been arrested and is assisting with the investigation.
