After evading lawmen for more than two months, Police on Saturday apprehended 29-year-old Donald Sheriff, who was wanted in connection with the murder of 33-year-old Keron Nicholson.

Regional Commander, Superintendent Ramesh Ashram accompanied by detectives went to Stone Creek Backdam, Mahdia, Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni), at approximately 12:30h where the fugitive was seen and arrested.
It was reported that on March 7, 2020, Sheriff and Nicholson were engaged in a heated argument that escalated into an altercation. However, Nicholson reportedly left the scene and went to Patrick Dam, Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, Region Six (East Berbice- Corentyne), where Sheriff attacked him with a piece of wood and lashed him to the head.
Nicholson was taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital but was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he subsequently died.
