NA Prison inmate busted with ganja

Nazam Shaw, an inmate at the New Amsterdam Prison was on Monday busted with 83 grams of cannabis in his possession.
Based on reports received, prison officials conducted a search on Monday in the prison and found two parcels wrapped with transparent plastic. An inspection on the same day revealed a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems.

The matter was reported to the Police at Central Police Station and the cannabis was weighed and lodged.
Just a few days ago a search of the Georgetown Holding Bay and the Lusignan Prison carried out by ranks of the Joint Services has led to the discovery of a number of contraband items, including improvised weapons.
It was reported that several improvised weapons, lighters, cell phones, a quantity of zip lock bags, metal objects, cell phone cases, cell phone chargers, a quantity of wires, cannabis, and scissors were unearthed.
