A 25-year-old man was taken into custody following the discovery of a .22 calibre firearm in a drawer inside his Tucber, New Amsterdam, Berbice home on Wednesday.
Police stated that, acting on information received, ranks went to the home of the young man and requested to conduct a search, which was granted. During the operation, the .22 calibre firearm was found hidden in a drawer inside the house.
At the time, he was the only occupant, and as such, he was arrested and taken into custody. An investigation into the discovery is underway.
